STAYING ON TOP OF
YOUR TREATMENT
-
Your treatment schedule
- Remember, your first and second injection appointments will be 1 month apart. After that, you will begin your monthly or every-other-month regimen, according to your treatment plan
- Add reminders to your phone at your first injection appointment to keep track of your future appointments
- Keep your Target Treatment Date appointments. If you are unable to keep an appointment, contact your doctor right away. You have a Flexible Treatment Window—from 7 days before to 7 days after your Target Treatment Date. To help you stay undetectable,* it’s important to keep your appointments and stick with your treatment plan
- If you can’t make your appointment within your Flexible Treatment Window, be sure to contact your doctor right away to discuss your treatment options. To help you stay undetectable, it’s important to keep all planned appointments and stick to your treatment plan
- If your doctor worked with a Specialty Pharmacy to get CABENUVA, the pharmacy will likely call or text you to confirm shipment ahead of each injection appointment. The call or text may be from an unknown number. It is important to check your text and voice messages and call back, or your CABENUVA delivery may be delayed
- If you have a question about costs or would like to explore more ways to save, ViiVConnect is there to help you. They may also be able to assist you if your insurance changes. Reach out to them at
1-844-588-3288 or visit ViiVConnect.com - Your doctor may be able to refer you to an Alternative Site of Care (ASOC) that may be more conveniently located to help you maintain your treatment schedule
*Undetectable means the amount of HIV in the blood is below the level that can be measured by a lab test.

Keep an eye out for injection-site reactions
You may experience some soreness, discomfort or other symptoms at the injection site over the days that follow your injections—this is common with many injectable treatments- Symptoms of injection-site reactions include pain, tenderness, hardened mass or lump, swelling, redness, itching, bruising and warmth at the injection site
In CABENUVA clinical studies, injection-site reactions:
- were common and mostly mild to moderate
- resolved within about 3 days after the first symptoms
- were reported less often the longer people were on treatment†
- Ask your doctor about your options for treating injection-site reactions, like:
- taking over-the-counter medications, such as pain relievers
- using hot or cold therapy packs
- staying active and stretching
- avoiding rigorous exercise or activity
- returning to routine daily activities
†The true rate of injection-site reactions over time may be underestimated, as symptoms that occurred may not have been reported during the study.
